Diversity and Behaviour Champions

The Diversity and Behaviour Champions Programme works with year 5 pupils in primary schools to give them the skills and confidence to be leaders in their schools tackling bullying, celebrating diversity and challenging discrimination.
Pupils who undertake the programme will:
- Understand the concept of diversity and the protected characteristics under equalities law.
- Empathise with how it feels to be bullied or treated differently.
- Understand the appropriate use of language and why certain terms can be hurtful.
- Develop ideas about what they can do in their school to encourage and explain appropriate behaviours and to ensure the school is a welcoming and safe environment for all.
