Diversity and Behaviour Champions
The Diversity and Behaviour Champions Programme works with year 5 pupils in primary schools to give them the skills and confidence to be leaders in their schools tackling bullying, celebrating diversity and challenging discrimination.
Pupils who undertake the programme will:
1. understand the concept of diversity and the protected characteristics under equalities law.
2. empathise with how it feels to be bullied or treated differently.
3. understand the appropriate use of language and why certain terms can be hurtful.
4. develop ideas about what they can do in their school to encourage and explain appropriate behaviours and to ensure the school is a welcoming and safe environment for all.
