We are really excited to be holding Patchway’s first Playing Out session this October half term. Playing Out is a parent and resident-led national movement, aimed at restoring children’s freedom to play out in the streets and spaces where they live, for their health, happiness and sense of belonging. Playing Out sessions are temporary road closures to let children play safely and freely in their street. Through traffic is diverted and volunteers will supervise resident car access at walking speed.
These events:
- Give children a chance to play out freely and safely on their own street.
- Build the conditions needed for street play to be normal again (safer streets, more connected communities, safety in numbers)
- Create a vision of streets as vibrant, playable spaces.
- Find out more about Playing Out on their website www.playingout.net
Come and join us at Fir Tree Close, Patchway on Wednesday 31st October from 10am-12pm. Play some street games and meet your neighbours. Halloween Fancy Dress is optional!
