Congratulations to our volunteers and local volunteer groups for being nominated for the South Glos Chairs Award.

The Friends of Southern Brooks were nominate for their fundraising efforts through community events. Not only raising much needed money for local projects in priority neighbourhoods of South Glos but also providing a space for communities to meet and enjoy themselves. They run a monthly quiz night at Brooks Cafe in Patchway and Tea Parties during the year. Well done on your nomination.

Abbotswood Action Group are a well established group who work along side our Community Co-ordinator in Abbotswood, Yate. They are passionate about engaging the community in local projects which make a real impact and difference to people's lives. Their annual Christmas Fayre and Autumn Action days continue to grow in ambition and attendance, encouraging people to get involved with celebrating the local area. Huge congratulations to them for winning their category.

Congratulations to Roger Humphries from Kingswood Community Transport, our neighbours in our office at the Kingswood Estate on Britannia Road. He was presented with a Chair’s Community Award for always looking to go the extra mile in his role as a volunteer driver.
