Community Cohesion Team Leader

We're looking for a part-time Community Cohesion Team Leader to join our friendly, passionate Community team. Based in our Patchway office - near to Cribbs Causeway and an easy commute from Bristol by bus, train, bike or car - your role will be a mixture of management responsibility as well as direct delivery, supporting Community Cohesion activity across South Gloucestershire.

As the South Gloucestershire Community Cohesion Lead, you will manage the South Glos Community Cohesion Action Group including quarterly meetings and task and finish groups in between, maintaining the crisis communications plan, and liaising with relevant teams in South Gloucestershire Council. You’ll gain a deep understanding of community cohesion issues across South Gloucestershire through activities such as tension monitoring, internal information sharing, and attending South Gloucestershire Equalities Voice group, and build strong relationships and partnerships with groups representing communities of identity.

You will also be responsible for the management of individuals and contracts including:

  • 3 volunteering contracts to support volunteering in South Gloucestershire including supporting DHI peers into volunteering post recovery.
  • Dementia co-ordinator supporting Dementia Friendly South Gloucestershire, lived experience groups, increase in memory cafes and dementia friendly spaces through training and awareness raising.
  • Gypsy, Roma, Traveller community support including literacy, health inclusion and community development.
