We're looking for a part-time Community Connector to join our Wellbeing and Health Team. Working in partnership with DHI (Developing Health & Independence) South Glos, you will coach DHI clients to improve their confidence and self-esteem using a person-centred, trauma-informed approach. You'll draw on your experience of supporting people who have complex lives affecting their health and wellbeing to empower individuals to identify and work towards achieving their goals based around accessing their local community, alongside providing regular check ins and support to attend groups and activities.
The Community Connector is part of the South Gloucestershire Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services (SGDARS) delivered in partnership with DHI (Developing Health and Independence). The vision for this service is to be trauma-informed and person-centred supporting people at whatever stage they are in to work toward their own goals and vision for positive change in their lives.
Based in our Patchway office - near to Cribbs Causeway and an easy commute from Bristol by bus, train, bike or car - with travel across South Gloucestershire including DHI Hubs in Patchway, Warmley, Yate and Kingswood. Travel expenses over and above your usual commute will be reimbursed.
There will also be opportunities for you to get together with the rest of the Southern Brooks wider team, by helping out at our fun events in the South Gloucestershire communities we serve, or attending our regular whole staff meetings and events. We have annual Summer and Winter get togethers where the focus is on fun and connection and - importantly - switching off from our every-day work!
As a vital member of our team and in return for your passion, expertise, commitment, and helpful, empathetic approach, we will provide you with:
- A salary of £28,493 per year (pro-rata)
- Excellent Annual Leave entitlement - starting at 5 weeks plus bank holidays per year (pro rata)
- Great sickness benefits
- A passionate, inclusive, committed and welcoming workplace
- A flexible, hybrid, casual-dress work environment
- And we will even give you a paid day off for your birthday!
Apply and register your interest in this Community Connector position by 9am on Tuesday 31st March 2026.
Interviews will be held week commencing 6 April 2026.
