Enabling Social Action Programme: Regional Champion Network for the West

The Enabling Social Action (ESA) programme is a partnership between the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the Universities of Sheffield and Hull. They are collaborating with local authorities to support them to design and deliver services with local people, service users, and civil society organisations.

As part of the ESA programme a Regional Champion Network has been set up with champions from local authorities in the North, East, South and West. This will be the second regional event led by the ESA Champion for the West Region, Andrew Donaldson of Staffordshire County Council and the event is hosted by South Gloucestershire Council. The main purpose of the event is to have space for conversations on the challenges and opportunities of social action and to share ideas for how we might improve collaboration.

We are pleased to be hosting the second Regional Champion event for the West on 11 February at our offices in Patchway (a 10 minute drive from Bristol Parkway train station). It will include a panel of VCSEs and local authority perspectives on examples of social action and workshop discussions examining 5 P’s of social action; people, place, procurement, partnerships and planet.
