Head of Wellbeing and Health

As the Head of Wellbeing and Health, you will play a pivotal strategic leadership role, championing wellbeing, health promotion, and the prevention of ill health across South Gloucestershire, ensuring Southern Brooks continues to thrive as a trusted and effective force for community wellbeing. As a senior member of the leadership team, you’ll help shape a safe, sustainable, and well-run organisation that puts people and communities at the heart of everything it does.

The SLT holds specific responsibilities, which include:

  • Leadership & Management
  • Service Development & Quality
  • Partnerships & Representation
  • Contract & Performance Management

Alongside an ability to cultivate strong partnerships across South Gloucestershire, building influential relationships with commissioners, community organisations, and system leaders, you will bring deep knowledge and practical expertise in supporting wellbeing and promoting healthier lives, using these to lead a user-centred approach that empowers people to live well. You will oversee and guide service delivery, contract performance, and ongoing development of programmes delivered through 11 contracts, supported by three experienced managers and working in close partnership with the CEO, Head of Finance, and the wider leadership team.

As a vital member of our team and in return for your passion, expertise and commitment, we will provide you with:

  • A salary of £34,281 per year (pro-rata)
  • Excellent Annual Leave entitlement - starting at 5 weeks plus bank holidays per year (pro rata)
  • Great sickness benefits
  • A passionate, inclusive, committed and welcoming workplace
  • A flexible, hybrid, casual-dress work environment
  • And we will even give you a paid day off for your birthday!

There will also be opportunities for you to get together with the rest of the Southern Brooks wider team, by helping out at our fun events in the South Gloucestershire communities we serve, or attending our whole staff meetings and events. We have annual Summer and Winter get togethers where the focus is on fun and connection and - importantly - switching off from our every-day work!
